Blonde Book: The Beautiful and Damned (F Scott Fitzgerald)
Aw, so lovely, but so not Colombian… I know, but I think living here for a while, adapting to the culture, trying to understand it, can do something to a girl. And there’s nothing like F Scott Fitzgerald for reminding you who you are and where you came from. The Beautiful and Damned is our world baby…
Er, two rich New Yorkers who never work a day in their lives? Oh alright, but you know what I mean. The Beautiful and Damned is absorbing in its gentility and whatever you say about this couple, they’re equals. Flawed but essentially ‘game’ free.
Do you have a favorite part? Of course. I have a favorite line: «A woman should be able to kiss a man beautifully and romantically without any desire to be his wife or his mistress.» Read into that what you will.
