Y no tienen pensado irse.

Latin America appreciates the efforts of the United States for help us fight dengue

Nobody is convinced by the philanthropic excuse the US uses for having established a military base in the Triple Border of Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay. Supposively, the army wants to help us fight dengue. This is the justification that North Americans gave the Argentine government for establishing one of the twenty US bases that are settled in Latin American territory.

Under the soils of the Tri-Border Area (TBA) there is a sea of fresh water that has been flowing for over 20,000 years. Being one of the oldest and largest aquifers of the Earth, military bases are there to guard this groundwater, which could provide a liter of water a day to every person on the planet for the next 200 years.

Water will be decisive for the future of the energy industry. Therefore, it is a priority for American policy to make presence in regions where the most coveted resources abound. Armies are established on soils rich in oil, diamonds, uranium, plutonium, and in ecosystems full of water and biodiversity. The TBA is a strategic location not only due to the Guarani aquifer, but also because it is very close to the vast Amazon forest.

True to the policy of privatization and security, US military bases impose the rigor of weapons, and assert their power to establish their own legislation that allows the North American country to be the owner of the World Heritage.

The American government explained their presence to the Brazilian government in the area as an effort to dismantle terrorist cells that were germinating inside the jungle. The Major of the border region ensures that in his city «peace has always reigned», and that the rate of robberies is very low. However, military bases still protect us from the invisible terrorists that could arise spontaneously. And they do not intend to leave. Latin America thanks them for their struggle and efforts for help us fight dengue.
